On Friday 19th February, 2021, a senior delegation from the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) came to visit the NDPR 11,000bpd Refinery at the Ogbele integrated oil and gas facility. The Director of the DPR, Engr. Sarki Auwal, who led the delegation commented that NDPR had demystified the local refining of petroleum products and used NDPR as an example:
“The private sector should invest in this initiative because our observation today confirmed that this refinery is a masterpiece that has increased production of crude and other essentials towards increased product circulation starting from 1,000 barrels to 11,000 barrels.
“I urge them to start small and grow gradually just like what we have seen today in Niger Delta Petroleum Resources with practically less than one per cent foreign input. Indeed, enormous employment and capacity would be harnessed locally.

On the occasion of IWD, we draw our collective attention to gender equality, celebrate women’s achievements and recognize the integral role played by women in NDEP’s workforce.

In continuation of the Company’s ongoing and forward-looking preparations for the new challenges of growth and transformation as the emerging leading Nigerian independent Energy Company, NDEP has appointed Mr. Adegbola Adesina as its new Chief Finance Officer (CFO).
Mr Adesina will make an excellent addition to the ND Group and the Executive Management Team.

A notable milestone attained in Q1 2021 was the approval granted by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) for the introduction of hydrocarbon into the Train 3 Plant. This brought the Company to the commissioning stage of the plant, and full utilisation of Trains II and III.

In Q1 2021, an impressive total of 851,576 bbls of crude oil (and condensate) and 1.52 B Scf of gas was produced from the Ogbele Field.
Additionally, a total of about 25MM litres of petroleum products was produced including naphtha, Household Kerosene (HHK), Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO), Marine Diesel Oil (MDO) and diesel.

Following on from a recent Board Retreat Event and feedback from our shareholders, the Board and Management of NDEP are actively researching strategies to ensure that the NDEP Plc share price more accurately reflects its true value. This will promote shareholder value and position NDEP for the future.
