Social media challenges usually come in waves after they become wildly popular, then fade away, then eventually recircle to become popular again. The Benadryl Challenge is in this wave and drug manufacturers are still warning users about the dangers of this challenge.
In short, the Benadryl Challenge encourages users to take excessive doses of allergy medication with the hopes of hallucinating. Users then share videos on social media of themselves during their overdose or talking about the experience.
While many social media filters have caught on to specific hashtags about this dangerous challenge and block them from posting, teens can still find ways to talk about it in person or online and may consider trying it. Learn about the challenge and how to talk with your teens about the peer pressure of social media challenges on our Benadryl Challenge: What Parents Need to Know blog today!
