And we're off!! The summer has begun, and the calendars are starting to get busy with the fun activities we have planned! This summer will fly by, and we're already in planning mode for Fall Semester 2021!

So, here are three things you need to know this month...We have two events that we need volunteer support for; one is a community outreach event, and the other is our annual Fireworks Fundraiser. The third item this month is info on our Summer College Bible study. This Bible study is for incoming and current college students, whether they go to WSU/local college or university or are just home for the summer break. Do you have a college student home for the summer? Make sure to pass along our invite. 

There is a "bonus item" that we'd like to draw your attention to. The fourth item in this month's update is a link to our website for two part-time positions we are currently hiring to fulfill soon.

Sweets & Saints: Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for adults to help serve alongside us as we reach out to our community at the local Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 19. There are many opportunities and time-slots throughout the day. 
 
This summer, Fairmount Ministries is partnering for the third time with King of Kings Lutheran Church (Kansas City, MO) to bring the Fairmount and surrounding neighborhoods the Gospel message!

This year, we will participate in the local Juneteenth celebration by having a "Saints & Sweets" corner at the Junetheenth's Kids Corner at Historic McAdams Park. We will have a craft booth and a sweets booth where we can share the love of Jesus with the kids and families of Wichita!

King of Kings will send a team of Jr. & Sr. High missionaries to lead the Bible story activities, skits, and praise songs up on stage. They will be presenting parts of the VBS program, "God's Wonderlab." Our role is to provide volunteer support for the day.

Here's what we need for volunteers:

• Serve Coffee & Juice to Volunteers: 7:30am-10:30am meet @ Fairmount Coffee
• Kid's Corner Set-Up: 9am @ Historic McAdams Park
• Chaperone at Craft/Experiment Booth: 12pm-3pm & 3pm-6pm @ Historic McAdams Park
• Chaperone at Sweets Booth: 12pm-3pm & 3pm-6pm @ Historic McAdams Park

It is hard to believe it's that time of year again!! We are so excited to be invited back to the Fireworks Tent with Peace Lutheran & Zion Lutheran!

This fundraiser is a HUGE blessing to our ministry. Your time and effort in volunteering out at the tent with us impact the ministry we are doing at Wichita State University.

NEEDED: Cashiers & Stockers
The tent will be open for business June 27- July 5. If you want to stock in the back, please sign up on the specific dates you are available, and we'll be in touch with you once we know more about when Ken will need people to stock the tent. They will need stockers the 24-26 as well. They need as many people as possible on the registers in the evenings and on the busy days (typically July  2-5).

Please note that minors can serve as long as they have an adult present.
