Tennessee Naturalist Program is honored to present:

Empowering Environmental Advocacy

A workshop that explores effective strategies for conservation advocates to influence government policy.
June 15, 2021 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm CST

As environmentalists, when we see nature being destroyed, we respond with passion.  How can we use this passion to drive real change in our systems?  Using local examples, we will explore the public policy making process, with the aim of steering participants towards an empowered position in environmental advocacy at the state and local level.

Workshop Leaders:

Noah Charney (photo on left) is the Executive Director of Radnor to River in Nashville and an Assistant Professor of Conservation Biology at the University of Maine.  He has worked for over 15 years on environmental advocacy in Nashville and has published extensively in the field of conservation biology.

Stewart Clifton is a former member of the Metro Nashville Council (12 years) and the Metro Nashville Planning Commission (16 years). He is currently a lobbyist and consultant on state level environmental issues with Tennessee Conservation Voters and a consultant to Radnor-2-River.
