WE ARE SO EXCITED! (and yes we're shouting!) Beginning on June 6 we will begin meeting for one worship gathering at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. Coming out of the COVID craziness of the last year we believe this is important for our church family right now. Students and KidsLife will also meet at 10:30.

There are several reasons for this change:

  1. Due to relaxed health guidelines from the CDC and the Ohio Health Dept, physical distancing is no longer a major issue (but people can still choose to do that in our gym).
  2. Since not everyone is comfortable returning to in-person worship right now, this allows for the fewer number of folks we currently have in two services to meet together in one larger gathering.
  3. A "fuller room" contributes to a greater sense of community as we sing, worship, and connect with each other.
  4. The 10:30 time splits the difference between the times of our current two gathering times, and finishes up before noon. It also allows us to offer classes and other opportunities before the service and not be too early.
  5. Across our different ministries, with a single gathering, there are fewer volunteers needed on Sunday morning to serve our church family.
  6. Finally, we will open both the Café downstairs for adults, and the Warehouse upstairs for students, to connect before the service starts.

If you have any questions, please contact one of our staff or elders.

This Sunday, Ted will preach from Numbers 21 as we wrap up our series on Liminal Space, and how we respond to and are formed in these seasons. We hope to see you Sunday, or you can join us online at 11:00 am.

In the Old Testament book of Numbers we see God's people being led by him through a space “between”—from slaves to the promised land. As we explore Israel's experience in this liminal space, we can discern some lessons for us as, we too, face those "in-between" spaces.
Join us on June 13 to celebrate the beginning of summer! The church is providing the food for this event, and we'll have burgers & hot dogs, sides, and a dessert. Folks are invited to donate whatever you'd like to help cover some of the costs. We'll set up a few tables, chairs, and canopies, but you can also bring lawn chairs or a blanket and we'll meet in the church's backyard. Mark your calendars and invite your friends for a great time together!

REGISTRATION PRICES GO UP JUNE 1,

In our KidsLife and Student ministries, we recognize a few important milestones in a kid's life. Coming up on June 13 is Senior Recognition and UpGrade Sunday for kids and students. We will celebrate the seniors' big milestone during the service. Additionally, rising 5th and 1st graders and their families will be welcomed and celebrated in their new environments at 10:00 on June 13 for their milestone. Check your email for your invitation or contact Nate or Kristi for more information.
On Sunday, June 6 we will begin a short 3-week teaching series we're calling "unHurried: Learning to Live into God's Rhythm."

Most of us have lived in 5th gear. You’ve probably heard the phrase, “life in the fast lane”? Yeah, we know what that’s like. Our lives are like movies titled “Speed” and “Fast and Furious XXVI.” The words of the Smokey and the Bandit song echo in our ears: “We’ve got a long way to go and short time to get there…” Have we learned anything the past fifteen months? What if there was a different way? Dallas Willard once advised: “Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life in our day. You must ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life.” What if we emerge from this liminal space of COVID and discover a better way to live life to the fullest?

The idea for this series comes from Willard's quote and is the basis for a book by John Mark Comer called The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. It is an excellent book and we recommend it to you. Follow the link below to find out more about the book, which is available in print, as an e-book, or on audio.
This is a great opportunity for a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented individual. Depending on experience and skills, this could expand to more areas and responsibilities for our facility. This position is available to start immediately. Contact Terri, our Director of Operations and Resources.
For several months now we have been offering daily reflections based on the week's sermon theme. We are currently planning the next two months of sermons and devotions. So far, we have had at least 15 different people contribute reflections. Do you like to write? Do you have a gift for communicating God's wisdom in grace and truth? If you are interested in helping others grow through providing these devotional thoughts, contact Ed Green at ed@beavercreekchristian.org to find out what's involved.
One more month...The Church Has Left the Building!
Through the end of June, we want to continue with our emphasis of showing some love to health care workers. We invite you to creatively show love to folks who work in healthcare of all kinds: nurses, doctors, counselors, social workers, etc. As you do so, share with us stories of how God is at work.
As we are trying to stay connected as a church getting info out to you and helping you connect is vitally important, which is why we’ve built BaseCamp. To make that connection as easy as possible we are asking everyone to set up BaseCamp on your phone’s home screen. Follow the link below for short instructional video on how you can do that and stay connected with us.
