- Canada-based Kruger Packaging announced it is locating its first U.S. corrugated box plant in Elizabethtown. The project is expected to create over 150 well-paying jobs in Central Kentucky with a $114.2 million investment. See official press release from the Governor's Office, here.
- The Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board recently approved the applications for Work Ready Status to three of our counties - Meade, Hardin, and Nelson! This is Meade County's first Work Ready status and Hardin and Nelson counties are Recertifications. Congratulations to all three!

New Seniors have been added to each program on nearly a daily basis. LTADD has removed all Seniors from the wait list. Meade County Meal recipients have been offered additional vouchers to assist them during this difficult time. If you know of a Senior needing assistance, please have them contact 270-737-6082.

LTADD CED staff have been working with the City of Cloverport to update their zoning ordinance. In May, the city council met to hear the first reading. The second reading will occur this month.

MAKING AN IMPACT WITH LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES
LTADD's Community & Economic Development Department kicked off #EconDevWeek (May 9-15) by providing $50,000 in financial assistance to two Hardin County businesses, thanks to LTADD's COVID-19 Business Relief Program. The loan program offers financial assistance to our small businesses that have been impacted during these challenging times. For more information about the program, click HERE!

COUNTIES & CITIES:
The Notice of Funds Available (NOFA) for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funding has been released by the state. The process for applying for this opportunity and securing funding is an extended procedure. To get started and be considered for funding, your community's Mitigation Actions Forms (MAF) must be submitted in the Community Hazard Assessment and Mitigation Planning System (CHAMPS) by Friday, July 16, 2021. CHAMPS can be accessed HERE.
Below are the Notice of Funds Available documents and a link to register for online briefings to be conducted by the Kentucky Emergency Management Office on June 2nd at 11:00AM (ET) and June 3rd at 2:00PM (ET).

The Department for Local Government (DLG) announced the 2021 application cycle for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is now open. The grant period for Community Projects and Public Facilities projects will be April 1, 2021 – September 1, 2021. The application window for Economic Development, Housing, CERF, and Public Services will be April 1, 2021 – January 31, 2022. Click HERE to learn more.
