Open Heaven 2021 is about to launch

Open Heaven, the initiative to prayer-walk every street in Coventry during June 2021, is about to launch! Building upon last year’s amazing prayer walk, many church leaders in the city have felt it is a crucial time to cover the city in prayer again as City of Culture year is now underway and the nation is set to come out of lockdown.

The User Guide (with Isaiah 61 Prayer Pointers) is now available; and the App goes live to earmark streets this Friday 28th May at 9am. You can also follow on social media using the @openheavencov handle and #ohcov.

City Praise & Prayer - hundreds together

300+ people in Coventry and beyond came together online on 16th May to praise God and pray for Coventry. Led by an excellent city wide worship band, we thanked God for His faithfulness in this extraordinary time. We prayed for Coventry people and culture to be blessed. The Dean of Coventry Cathedral described how on 14th November 1940, the burning city and Cathedral could be seen from 30 miles away. We pray that the Holy Spirit lights us up as a city so God's blessing is recognised from a distance, just as the fires were seen that night. We look forward to meeting in person in Autumn to pray.

Childhood Faith workshop

The number of children in our churches rarely represents the children across our community. How do we equip ourselves, our congregations, our families and our teachers to support children and young people in their faith journeys? And how can we grow in our faith by knowing them?

This workshop on Tuesday 29th June, 1pm-2.30pm will look at childhood faith; the importance of connecting church, home and school; and practical ideas to create this culture wherever you are. Register here.

Connect with politics

It's great when Christians engage with MPs/councillors in a productive, loving way, but sometimes it's difficult to know where to start. We can be active citizens, engaging with political representatives in a way that fosters trust, encouragement and partnership. This new prayer & action resource from the Evangelical Alliance may help you engage.
