Now that my father is safely in cardiac rehab, and I've had time to confer with the vestry regarding announcements of loosened restrictions from the CDC and State and Local authorities, we can take a new step into Emmanuel’s post-pandemic rebuilding. Beginning Sunday the 30th, our two Masses will look like this:

Sunday 9 a.m.
  • no RSVP requirement or capacity restriction
  • masks still required (for the time being)
  • we will sing one hymn
we will keep most other pandemic protocols except the one-way route and completely contactless communion

Wednesday 12:15 p.m.
  • we will continue a limited capacity of 40 with RSVP required, to ensure social distancing for those who may not be vaccinated or who want a safer environment
  • masks still required
  • no singing
we will keep most other pandemic protocols except the one-way route and completely contactless communion

It's exciting to be moving forward, and I thank our vestry for their wisdom and sense of an appropriate pace of change.

This Week's Highlights
WELCOME PAUL COEY!
On May 30th, Trinity Sunday, our guest Deacon at Mass will be the Rev. Paul Coey, whom many will remember as a former lay leader of our 20s-30s ministry as well as a recipient of a Herbst Scholarship whom Emmanuel commissioned for hospital chaplaincy. A native of C-U, Deacon Paul now serves as a transitional deacon in the Diocese of Fond du Lac and the Chaplain at SSM Health there.

FAREWELL TO CHRIS MASON
Our Choirmaster has completed his doctorate and accepted a position at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. We are sad to lose Chris, and to have had so much of his time with us subject to pandemic limitations (while applauding his creative and resourceful response over the past year.) Mother Beth writes, "Chris' unfailing positive spirit, musical gifts, and team-building skills have been a real blessing to our parish. He will be missed!" We invite you to join us at the 9am Mass on June 6th to bid Chris farewell and thank him for his ministry.

MONDAY MAY 31st
What is the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary? | Visitation of the Blessed Virgin MaryThis coming Monday is the Feast of the Visitation, as well as (on the secular calendar) Memorial Day.
