In the largest cities of northern and southern India heavy black smoke fills the landscape and the sky. This darkened atmosphere is the result of hundreds of cremation fires for the dead, from the Covid pandemic that has raced across India. India is in crisis…with the population in panic mode and terror.
This Hindu nation has no answers as to why now this evil plague has attacked their land. Entire families have become seriously ill during this pandemic. There is a shortage of hospital beds and oxygen for the dying. Families are bringing their loved ones to the hospital doors and being turned away due to the shortages. Dying family members are then left to lay on the street, inside cars, on street benches, and all their parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles can do is to watch, as their family member gasps for breath. Many of the dying are drawing their last breath in the arms of family members. The death wail of living souls is long and loud in the hospitals, streets and homes of persons who are left alive. Even the dead must wait in line for their turn to be placed on the cremation fires that burn 24 hours a day.
This pandemic is having a negative effect on all Indian society, shops are closed, people cannot work, and thousands are sinking into poverty quickly. The population is so overwhelmed by this crisis that many are not able to live day to day for fear that they will be a Covid victim tomorrow. Even many in the Christian community are losing family members, but there is also word of many believers being healed, Praise God.

The present government who wants a pure Hindu society, and in the past few years has done everything possible to stop the spread of the Gospel across India, has now failed to stop the spread of Covid. Government officials are scrambling to ease the crisis and get the country back to normal. They have called on the international community for help and many countries have responded. But, with such overwhelming odds they are making very slow progress.

This Hindu culture that has turned it’s back on God is being awakened to the living Savior. Many Indians are now turning to Christ and now realize, that Hope and Eternal Life is only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Pray dear friends, for the people of India. Only a move of God can change this nation of one billion plus people. Christian churches, national missionaries, need your interest, your prayer and financial support. Thank you dear friends, for you’re past love and support of our Indian brothers and sisters, but in this great hour of crisis we must not forget them.
