Dear Faculty and Staff,

As Acting Co-Presidents Edmonds and Moore shared earlier this month, CC is working on comprehensive plans to return to on-campus life for the 2021-22 academic year.

As faculty and staff members, each one of you provides both direct and indirect support to students, academic life and success, and each other.

Thank you to those employees who completed the workplace survey.  Now that we know more about how the COVID-19 virus is spread and vaccinations are readily available, we are transitioning back to campus slowly over a six-week period to help employees ensure they feel comfortable in their workspaces.

We heard your desire for continued flexibility in work schedules and are exploring ways to make that available where it makes sense.

Preparing for On-Campus Work
We want to share guidance as we prepare for a return to in-person campus life.

If you’ve been working remotely, we encourage you to begin discussions with your supervisor about returning to on-campus work. While some departments may require on-campus work earlier, employees should start transitioning during the period from June 15 to August 1 to some number of days on campus. This transitional period allows you to re-adjust to the in-office routine and gives you time to determine what needs you may have in your campus work space. Note: These dates apply to year-round employees; nine-month employees will return to on-campus work later in the summer, based on their contracted schedule.

Vaccinations
COVID vaccinations are mandatory at Colorado College. All employees are expected to have a COVID vaccine or an exemption from the vaccination by August 1, 2021.

Vaccination cards will be uploaded via Summit and HR will send detailed instructions, including a vaccine exemption process, to employees soon.

Please get vaccinated now. Fully vaccinated people significantly reduce their own risk of infection, and evidence shows that vaccinated people are also much less likely to transmit COVID-19. This shift in the current environment makes it possible to begin our return to campus.

Developing On-Campus Work Protocols
A working group is developing recommendations on return-to-the-workplace elements including leaves, process to request exemptions and accommodations, work schedules, and other guidance for supervisors and for employees.

The college is preparing to welcome visitors in June; details on an updated visitor policy will be shared soon.

The specific return-to-campus format will vary based on each department’s needs. Please talk with your supervisor if you have questions or concerns about this transition.

We’ll be sharing ongoing information and details about our return to campus. If you have additional questions, please contact hrcovid@coloradocollege.edu

As we work toward returning to CC’s in-person, community-oriented, residential liberal arts experience, we look forward to bringing employees back to campus to support our students and our campus colleagues.

Sincerely,

Laurie Mozingo
