I have an important update to share in this month's Digest, which is also why it took a while for me to write.
If you've followed our journey at Tribeless from the beginning, you'll know that we've always been a consumer-facing company. We started out with dinner parties, and evolved into virtual events and programs like our Membership. We were even planning to launch our first public Empathy Box workshop (we hinted about it in March's newsletter).
In recent months, however, we've seen an uptick in B2B sales. Our days are filled with prep calls, contract agreements, program design and client trainings. Which is GREAT... But it doesn't leave us with any capacity to handle direct-to-consumer services like we used to.
After reflecting on our past four years of operation, we realized that we've been spreading ourselves too thin as a small team, trying to run a resource-heavy B2C business… when the care, quality, and heart we invest into each individual was more suited to the depth, complexity and nuance of B2B.
And so, with a heavy heart, we're saying goodbye to our dream of running any public-facing programs ... for now.
The thing about staying open and communicative as a company as you grow is that sometimes you make promises you can't keep. The way through, I hope, is to keep communicating — and to get damn good at apologizing.
So, dear friends – we’re sorry.
I can't promise that we'll handle this transition perfectly. What I can promise is that we'll remain open, honest and communicative throughout the process. (I wrote a personal blog about how we arrived at this decision – I'll link to it at the end of this email.)
Thank you, friends. Thanks for reading, sharing, and supporting us. It always means the world to have you here :)
