The Brompton Fountain June Newsletter

Welcome to our June newsletter. The sun is shining and queues are forming at the ice cream van. Summer is here! The good weather means that we have been able to restart our activities and workshops in the hospital courtyard - last week, we were painting plates. It's been so lovely to see some of you in person again, and we can't wait until we can finally gather together for a real catch-up. As ever, please keep an eye on our social media channels for all upcoming events and fundraising challenges. And a big well done to all those who participated in the inflatable 5K run on Saturday - fantastic effort!

Forever In Our Hearts

We are incredibly fortunate that survival and surgical success rates are extremely high at Royal Brompton Hospital. Very sadly there are times where, despite all efforts, there is nothing more that can be done for a small number of patients with highly complicated conditions and families are given the heartbreaking news that their child is going to pass away.

Our charity works closely with the Family Liaison and Nursing teams to provide support, love and care for these parents and siblings in a number of ways and help create some special memories. A donation to our Forever In Our Hearts appeal will make a real difference to families who experience child loss.

Trailblazers Summer Bake Off!

We are pleased to announce a Trailblazers summer baking event! On Sunday 8th August, we'll be putting our skills to the test in The Big London Bake.

Those interested have until Thursday 1st July to apply for tickets - names will then be drawn at random to allocate spaces. Please only register if you can guarantee your attendance. This includes making sure you have transport to/from the venue.

As a Trailblazers event, this is for Royal Brompton and Harefield patients aged 13-25 only. There are a limited number of parent/carer tickets available for those who require them. For parents/carers who do not need to be present inside the tent, there will be space in the attached venue (Castle Pub in Tooting) to relax during the baking!

The Perfect Fathers' Day Gift
