What happened at the European championships? Did they recover pre-covid participation and performance?

Canoe Slalom Euros Statistics

*All data in this emails is considering the four Tokyo 2020 classes only
Participation
Participation seemed to be back to normal, as both boats and countries were increased compared to Euros in Pau 2010. However, it didn't reach the maximums of Prague 2018.
Results by countries
Medals were shared by more countries, and we see a lot of countries having at least a final in every European championships since 2017. In these last Euros, only 22% of the countries didn't go through semifinals.
Performance
How was performance compared to other Europeans? In the next charts it can be seen by comparing progressing times (time that was needed to progress into the next phase).

Note: Reference time (100%) is the average of the best run per class on the course.

Performance wasn't apparently decreased, not even in 2020 during the COVID year, at least in semi and finals. Was specially obvious in Heats 1, but not for getting into the finals or the medals, were times seem to be stable no matter what.

The game
European Championships also had its slalommanager edition.

404 teams from users from 28 different countries chose their favorite athlete to compete against other users.
the ideal team would have been:

This team would have got 350 points, almost 30% more than the winner team, LHS56 team.
A new edition will be available for World Cups Prague and Leipzig. Check it out at www.slalommanager.com.
