What we've been up to:

Over the past few months, the consortium has been undergoing internal changes to the charter, including exciting expansion to the membership! Together, we established priorities for 2021 and the committees have been rolling up their sleeves to build a DEI toolkit and Regional Housing Campaign. Their progress and updates will be shared here in the newsletter and at the H4A meetings!

Funding, advocacy, and events

The National Alliance to End Homelessness is looking for housing advocates to attend Capitol Hill Day on June 16.

They will be hosting a webinar on June 7 to discuss available funding and topics to advocate legislators about. Register here to join.

In Case you Missed it:
The Bend Chamber of Commerce hosted a webinar on Workforce Housing. Attendees heard from a panel of three: Lynne McConnell (City of Bend Affordable Housing), Chris Davis (Hayden Homes), and Trevor Janeck (St. Charles). The recording can be viewed on YouTube

Grants to Support Housing Repairs in Rural Communities

Funding does not go to individual homeowners, but rather the grant recipients will repair housing for low or very low income residents. Rental property owners are eligible.  Learn More.

Movement on the RHNA

The Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) was directed to build a Regional Housing Needs Analysis (RHNA) as a pilot study over the past year. They submitted their report to the legislature in March 2021.

There was no movement on the report until the Fair and Equitable Housing Caucus submitted a letter to the House urging them to direct DLCD to continue the work established by the RHNA.  As a result, they were asked to submit a work plan and budget note on June 1. Further information will be shared at the next H4A meeting!

H4A welcomes Mosaic Medical to the consortium!

Elaine Knobbs-Seasholtz will be representing Mosaic Medical on Housing for All. We are excited to have community health represented at our table and engaging in the great work ahead.

COMING UP NEXT

H4A will be holding their charter signing ceremony at the end of June. During this ceremony, we will onboard new members and recommit to the cause and purpose of H4A.
