Dear Neighbor,

I am excited for my Town Hall on Wednesday, June 2nd from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm.

This town hall will focus on how we are using our federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars, how we are building permanent housing throughout D6 and the City, and how we are addressing homelessness.

  • My top three priorities for the one-time federal ARPA funds are:
    • Addressing homelessness
    • Providing financial relief to our local businesses
    • Subsidizing childcare and supporting childcare providers
I am also supporting additional funding for rental assistance, reopening our parks and libraries sooner than anticipated, and funding the street café program I championed so that the permit remains free for our local businesses.

During the Town Hall I will provide updates about my work this year and host three presentations. We will hear from:

  • City Budget Director Dr. Ben Noble about the funding mechanisms, amounts, and constraints of Federal ARPA funding
  • Office of Housing Director Emily Alvarado on current and upcoming housing projects in D6 and across the city, and how this federal funding can be used to quickly bring permanent housing options online
  • King County Regional Homelessness Authority CEO Marc Dones about their work setting up the organization and the next steps we are taking to address homelessness
We will end the Town Hall with Q&A from you – D6 residents. Please RSVP by hitting the button and we will send you instructions to join us and ask questions:
