20th High-level Committee on South-South Cooperation
The UN High-level Committee on South-South Cooperation will take place 1-4 June, presided over by H.E. Ms. María del Carmen Squeff, Permanent Representative of Argentina, and webcast on http://webtv.un.org/
The thematic discussion will focus on ‘Accelerating the achievement of the SDGs through effective implementation of the BAPA+40 outcome document while responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and similar global crises’.
The agenda of the 20th session and organization of work was adopted by the High-level Committee, as contained in documents SSC/20/L.2 and SSC/20/L.3 and addenda.
Three side events will focus on:
- The United Nations and the scaling up of South-South and triangular cooperation to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (1 June 2021, 1 – 2:30 pm EST);
- South-South and triangular cooperation funding mechanisms: A complementary and multifaceted cooperation for sustainable development (2 June 2021, 8:15 – 9:45 am EST); and
- Triangular cooperation post BAPA+40: A multi-stakeholder partnership for the achievement of 2030 Agenda (3 June 2021, 1 – 2:30 pm EST)
