Beloved in Christ,

I hope the fire of Pentecost is still burning bright within you after that great weekend we had together!  You can check out our Holy Spirit headgear in the photos below.  Lo and I were delighted that so many of you came by on Saturday and were able to hop onto ZOOM that afternoon.  How much fun was that?!
We give thanks to God for the declining COVID numbers we are seeing in Ontario these days, and I was pleased to see that our lockdown will not be extended.  To that end, we are very happy to open up our lovely Midweek Holy Eucharist on Wednesday at 12noon again, starting next week on June 2.  Please register on our website since numbers are limited to a total of 10.

It is also great that our Livestream Worship is up and running!  As I said on Sunday, we are going to have a couple of bumpy weeks as we work out the wobbles in this exciting and new (to us!) technology, so thank you to our amazing Technical Ministry Team for your leadership, and also to those of you who stuck it out with us for half a service in silence!  At least you could enjoy looking at our beautiful church in all its glory (big shout out of gratitude to you Marion Cronsberry for your holy work in the chancel) as you patiently waited for the audio to kick in (which it did!)

On that note, we are now in our church building each Sunday at 10:30am for our livestream, and having flowers in the chancel is so important to worshipping the “Lord in the Beauty of Holiness.”  I would like to invite all of you who have a beloved person in your lives who has died to sign up for memorial flowers.  I love to do this myself in memory of my grandparents and late uncle.   If we all contribute then we can enjoy this beautiful way of remembering the saints who have gone before us.  Please email Edward at the office to sign up and to arrange payment.  The names of your loved ones will be printed in our bulletin.

Finally—we are looking forward to a great inter-generational service of Family Worship on ZOOM this Sunday.  There’s a terrific lineup of our young people who will lead us in prayer and read the scriptures, and our fantastic Lo Cook is preaching.  You won’t want to miss this, Church!

With the glorious late spring weather upon us, and this 3rd wave receding, we can feel the anticipation of when we will be able to gather again physically.  But as a parishioner and I reflected together just the other day—we will look back at our time as a Church in exile—on ZOOM—and say to each other:  “were not our hearts burning within us?” (Luke 24:32)

Are our hearts not burning within us as we experience the living God and the power of the Holy Spirit among us in our community—during this time of desert wandering?  Thanks be to God!

With gratitude for you and every blessing,
Molly+
