A letter from Sarah Driller, Puma Pride PTA President:
As the new Puma Pride PTA President, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to the 2021-2022 school year at Firestone Charter Academy. Your PTA has been hard at work over the past several months planning activities for our students and staff. We are looking forward to a more "normal" school year and all the possibilities that come with it!
What is a PTA, you may be wondering? PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. PTA is a national organization and is the oldest and largest child advocacy association in America. Today’s PTA is comprised of more than 4 million parents, teachers, grandparents, caregivers, foster parents and other caring adults who share a commitment to improving the education, health, and safety of all children. We speak with one voice for every child.
We would love for you to show your support by participating in the numerous events and programs that we have planned throughout the year. Your participation might be that of a committee member, volunteer, or merely as an attendee. Whatever level of participation you select, your time and involvement will certainly be appreciated. You also can show your support another way by providing us your comments regarding our PTA efforts or suggestions or ideas for other potential PTA initiatives. To facilitate this, please feel free to contact me directly at pumapride@firestonecharteracademy.org.
Social Media has also become a huge part of our culture's form of communication. We would appreciate as many parents and teachers to come “like” the Puma Pride PTA at Firestone Charter Academy page. We will be using this forum for reminders, updates and announcements alongside the @pumapridepta Instagram page.
It would be amazing if our likes/followers equaled that of our enrolled students!
Puma Pride PTA also has this newsletter (which will be released every two weeks) in addition to social media. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss anything!
Puma Pride PTA believes that everyone should have pride in being a part of Firestone Charter Academy. Each member of our school community, whether student, teacher, staff, or parent, is an integral part of the FCA community. I hope you will join us in striving to make FCA the best it can be for our children. I look forward to working with you this year.
Thank you,
Sarah Driller
