Hear from Professor James Knowles as he introduces National Volunteer's Week with Royal Holloway Volunteering.

Welcome to Volunteers Week!

National Volunteers Week is finally here! As the Spring term comes to an end the Volunteering Team are excited to let you know about the range of events taking place online and in-person this week.

The theme of National Volunteering Week this year is "A Time to Say Thanks." That is why we are saying thank you to all of our volunteering students, staff and alumni. This academic year has been challenging but it is fantastic to see so many members of the college community making a difference in their local areas.

The Royal Holloway Volunteering awards will be taking place online this year, delivered through a series of short videos throughout the week. Right now you can watch the introduction to the awards delivered by Professor James Knowles. We will end the week with the Mayor's Cup for student volunteer of the year. This prestigious award has been presented by the Mayor of Runnymede for the last thirteen years.

We are incredibly excited to tell you that we have reconnected with Mayor's Cup winners from previous years, going back to the first ever recipient, Rob Birks, who received the award in 2009. They will be sharing their experiences of volunteering at Royal Holloway, the ways they got involved and how it helped them!

Read on to see all of the great activities taking place this week, and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and now YouTube so you don't miss out!
