🛒 What is Affiliate Marketing?

If you've been around the Internet as long as the neon team has, then chances are high that you've knowingly (or unknowingly) come across Affiliate Marketing in its various forms already.

While this form of marketing is not new, it is as relevant as ever. In this month's blog post, we're providing an intro to the topic so that you can find out what it is all about and understand how you could perhaps leverage it for your own purposes.

💡 Level up your knowledge

Since Spring is the time of the year where most people do a round of deep cleaning, the neon team did a bit of maintenance behind the scenes itself lately.

To provide you with up-to-date knowledge, tool tips, and recommendations on how to best utilize the endless opportunities the digital world offers, we updated the 'neon resources' on our website.

It is an aggregated selection of online resources that we have referenced here and there in our online marketing courses or on our social media channels. So whatever you are trying to accomplish online, make sure to check it out.

👀 Instagram rolls out new feature to hide like counts

Hiding 'like' counters has been part of the debate about the influence of social media for our social well-being for quite some time.

Facebook had experimented with the updated feature on its OG daughter platform Instagram already, but now finally shipped it for good. From now on, you have the choice to show like counters under your content on the platform or not. The option will also be rolled out on Facebook soon.

Social Media Today has more on the topic.

📍 Pinterest launches updated version of its Stories

We have mentioned the effort to add a 'Stories' feature by pretty much any social platform already a few times in this newsletter.

Pinterest is now pivoting its version of Snapchat's original invention though. In order to cater more to Pinterest's focus on providing a 'discovery experience' for products and other ideas, it has launched its now-called 'Idea Pins'.

Check out the official announcement.

📸 Poparazzi jumps to the top of the U.S. App Store

There is a new hype app in town: Poparazzi.

In the US (where else?), a new social platform has jumped to the top of the local download charts right after launch. Gen Z seems to simply love it.

How the app works? TechCrunch explains everything in more detail.

📰 NFTs are the future of digital content

Last but not least, check out this recent interview that neon's Co-Founder & CEO, Misch Strotz, gave Silicon Luxembourg about non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

In the interview, Misch explains the potential the technology offers for the digital economy, using neon's "Z4UBERSHOW" and "Z4UBERTRICKS" as an example of how especially content creators can benefit.
