LSFC - Important Coach & Manager Updates
Hello Saints Coaches and Managers,

COVID-19 restrictions
In regards to the updated Covid-19 restrictions announced yesterday, we are waiting for more information and will update members once we understand the implications for community sport.
We do expect that a number of regulations that were in place last year may come back into place such as caps on the number of spectators and the need to take attendance for training.

In the meantime we ask that all members continue to follow club policy and not attend any football activities if they or their child belongs to any of the below groups:
* Have flu or cold-like symptoms
* Have been in contact with anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19
* Have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting test results
* Are about to be tested for COVID-19
* Have been to any known hotspots/locations (https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates)

DRIBL Compliance - Fines now being issued by the CDSFA
For Under 8 and older teams please be aware that the CDSFA is now auditing club's compliance with the match-day process in DRIBL and we have already received a number of fines.

In addition to entering the score after the game the CDSFA will be looking into the following 3 points:

  1. Teams not Submitted prior to kick-off
  2. Opposition Teams not Confirmed by our club
  3. Whether or not a Team Official is marked as participating (available) - we need at least one marked as available for every game.

Overall, we have gotten onboard with the new process very well and I thank you all for this. However, every week there are still a number of teams (usually different) who are not entering their respective scores following the end of the game.

From the feedback we have received, we believe the main problem may be as follows:
When the opposition team enters the score first, whatever score they enter will be auto-filled in when you go to enter the score. We believe some Managers interpret this as the score has already been entered. This is not the case. You still have to either confirm the score or enter a new one by pressing the "save" button.

New Wet Weather Process
The CDSFA has made a change to the Wet Weather process for Under 8 & Older teams that all Coaches and Managers should be aware of.
There is only one place to check if fields are open, DRIBL (https://cdsfa.dribl.com)
Do not check Council Wet Weather pages as DRIBL is the source of truth and games can occasionally be moved to new fields that are open at very short notice.

When checking the draw on Dribl please note the status of your game:

  • PENDING: means the game is going ahead as per the details that appear, that is, the date, time and field

  • WASHOUT RESCHEDULE: means the field is closed, the game is washed out, and will be rescheduled to a later date

  • WASHOUT CANCELLED: means the field is closed, the game is washed out and cancelled completely.

Football is a winter sport and is sometimes played in the rain. If the rain is extremely heavy the various council rangers may close the grounds. Clubs and Referees can also decide to close a ground if they consider it unsafe to play on. Sometimes this can be a last minute decision and you may arrive at your game to find the ground has been closed. It’s unfortunate when this happens, but it can be beyond our control.

If you are in any doubt as to whether your game will go ahead, please turn up to the field.
The Club incurs a fine if we forfeit a game without 72 hours notice.

For MiniRoos, Under 6 and Under 7 games we will post on Facebook if the games are not going ahead.

NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week (4 July - 11 July 2021) celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is celebrated by all Australians and is a great opportunity to learn more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

To acknowledge NAIDOC Week this year, we are inviting teams to:

  • pick up a packet of *free* temporary tattoos from the King George Canteen this Saturday morning the 26th of June
  • have your team wear the tattoo for your match on either 3/4 July, 10/11 July or your next Home game
  • read out an Acknowledgement of Traditional Owners (to be provided by the Club closer to the date) at the start of your Home game on either 3/4 July, 10/11 July or your next Home game

Please remember to send us photos of your team to registrar@leichhardtsaints.com celebrating NAIDOC week.

Volunteer Thank-You Evening - Save the date
Please save the date for our end of season Volunteer thank-you evening.
Details will be sent closer to the date, but please keep Thursday 26th of August free so we can get together to celebrate the season.
We also plan to hold our Club Presentation Day on Sunday the 12th of September which you can share with your teams.

Thanks,
Matthew Bowen
