The Digital Congress in numbers so far

Dear Delegates,

Thank you so much for making week one of IWA’s first virtual #WorldWaterCongress a success! We have seen high levels of engagement and quality discussions happening throughout the sessions so far.

We’re delighted to have hosted 2,200 attendees from 94 countries. Over 75 speakers were involved in the presentation of 27 technical and scientific sessions! Keep it up!

The Congress will resume tomorrow, Tuesday 01 June at 12:00 GMT, with the Week 2 Opening Ceremony. In this plenary session, Chair of England’s Environment Agency Emma Howard Boyd will deliver a keynote speech focused on the need to enhance water and environmental protection. Moreover, the winners of the IWA Membership Awards will be announced, as well as news of an exciting new IWA partnership.

In addition, on Wednesday 2 June at 15:00 GMT, we will host a screening of the award-winning documentary 'Lords of Water'. The documentary seeks to shed light on the financialisation of water. Two other compelling documentaries - ‘Dry Times’ and ‘Brave Blue World’ - remain available on demand on the platform.

On the final day, Friday 4 June, we will conclude with the Water Industry TV Awards at 12:00 GMT and the Closing Ceremony at 15:00 GMT where we’ll announce the Poster Award Winner and introduce you to our next #WorldWaterCongress which will take place in Copenhagen in September 2022.

Don’t forget to also use this opportunity to visit our sponsors and network with your peers on the platform.

We hope that you are enjoying the conference and we look forward to seeing you again in Week 2.
