Scammers are becoming more sophisticated.

One group has perfected a method that is successful in extracting thousands of dollars from unsuspecting people--usually elderly people.

Because it is so successful, it will be imitated and duplicated.

When you hear the stories, your initial reaction is to probably think how could people be so dumb to fall for such a thing?

But when you study the details, you'll change your mind. 

The scam works because it preys on a person's desire to do the right thing and help people who are in need. 

YouTube personality Mark Rober inadvertently stumbled into a sophisticated scammer network when he launched his latest glitter bomb prank. 

He reveals how the scam works and shows why it is so effective in this video:

In the video, Rober is able to intervene and save a woman from losing a lot of money. But here is a story that doesn't have a happy ending. The scammers took $48,000 from an 84-year-old woman:

You should warn people you know about the scam. Share with them the link to the video. As a protective measure, tell them to never grant anyone remote access to their computer without asking a trusted family member first--even if the person is claiming to be from a reputable company like Amazon. 

I know someone who almost fell victim to the scam. He was saved because the people who worked at the bank knew him and questioned what he was doing. They explained to him that he was the victim of a scam. 

I sent him this video I shared in today's email. He said this is exactly what happened to him.
