It is more blessed to give than to receive, because while the giver shares the poverty of the receiver, yet he remains diligent in providing by his own toil, not merely enough for his own needs, but also what he can give to one in want. In this way he is adorned with a double grace - by giving away his goods he emulates the self-denial of Christ, while also by his labor displaying the generosity of the rich.
- Saint John Cassian
Our post-Liturgical fellowship with coffee hour is back!
Like in the past, we need volunteers to host it. The task is easy:
- Buy a half-gallon/gallon milk; rolls/bagels; butter and/or cream cheese; donuts or a sweet pie or a cake - Come a few minutes prior to the beginning of the Liturgy to prepare the coffee maker (the coffee is usually provided). - Serve coffee. - Clean up: put all dairy products into the fridge; wipe down the tables; wash the coffee maker.
Volunteer by signing up on the list by the kitchen window.
Along with leading the choir, the job requirements also include regular choir rehearsals and working with children's choir in preparation for major Feastdays (Christmas, Pascha).
The position is paid (per service).
The primary service language is English. However, a basic knowledge of Church Slavonic/Russian is a plus.
If interested in the position, or for more information, please contact Father Aleksey at
