WE'RE DESIGNING A CO-OP CAMP YOUTH NETWORK
AND WE NEED YOUR HELP

Co-op Camp Staff and Alumni: Have you thought about reliving moments of your Co-op Camp experience? Let's turn that thought into reality.

We are setting up a youth network for you to continue the Co-op Camp Magic and help maintain the connections after your Camp experience.

Whether you have attended one SCYP session or all of them, please take a moment and complete this three-minute SURVEY. It’s completely anonymous.

Input from the survey will help us create the right kind of network for you to reconnect with fellow alumni and participate in interest-driven activities. We included a screen shot of one of the questions (above) so you can see the type of questions we're asking.

We need your guidance so that we can set up a network that is the best fit for you!

Current and former Campers and Staff can participate.

THE CASE FOR CO-OPS, THE INVISIBLE GIANT
OF THE ECONOMY

Think capitalism is broken? Try cooperativism, says co-op enthusiast and researcher Anu Puusa in this TED Talk.

Anu lays out how co-operatives -- businesses owned, operated and controlled by their members -- can both make money and have a positive impact on the environment and local communities. With co-ops, Anu says, doing good business and doing good at the same time becomes possible.

ANOTHERVIEW WITH AMARACHI DEBUTS ON ACCESSTV

There's a new talk show in Regina and it is anchored by four proud immigrant women. Amarachi Ejike, Tanwa Adanlawo, Oge Anu and Folake Shobamowo host AnotherView with Amarachi.

The show debuted on Access TV last month. It is a window into the lives of Canadian immigrants and a platform for sharing inspiring stories.

Ejike, an information security professional, got the idea for the show when she realized there was no one like her on local television programming. This, coupled with a challenging life experience, inspired her to take action.

"I heard stories of how people were actually struggling. The idea was actually conceived in 2018, after my family and I went through some things," EjIke said. "It made us think about if other families were going through this, and who were they talking to?"

AnotherView with Amarachi airs Fridays at 1:30 p.m. CST on Access TV in Regina or on The Access Now TV app from anywhere in Canada. AccessTV is a service of Access Communications Co-operative.

JUNE 8TH WORKSHOP: PERFORMANCE AND IMPACT MEASUREMENT FOR CO-OPERATIVES

Keeping track of data can be a big challenge. What information is most important to collect? How do you bring it together to gain insights about what you’re doing, make good decisions and to communicate the co-op’s value to members and other stakeholders? The Demonstrating Value (DV) framework is a simple and practical approach that can help.

This learning opportunity is presented by The Vancity Community Foundation, Demonstrating Value and The Common Approach to Impact Measurement. It’s directed to all types of co-operatives and is suitable for executive directors, managers, program staff, communications staff, board members, and others directly involved in running or directing your co-op.
