Brimbank Writers and Readers Festival 2021 – book now!

The popular festival returns from Thursday 17-Saturday 26 June with a program of high quality events. Get ready for authors talks, panel discussions, interviews, workshops, performance and storytelling events and more!

Recognising and reconnecting with volunteers

National Volunteer Week was a chance to stop and thank the hundreds of people who make time in their busy lives to give back to the community through our volunteer program. Our 365 volunteers reflect Brimbank’s diversity, between them speaking 51 languages and coming from 45 different countries. We are so grateful for their ongoing commitment to our community. Do you or someone you care for need support as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic?

The Community Connector Program can help connect you with different types of support, including:
  • Practical help such as running errands, food relief, grocery shopping, or help setting up video chats
  • Emotional support such as regular chats with a like-minded local, welfare checks, financial assistance
  • Social activities such as linking in to online groups, Library and Neighbourhood House programs, social groups and activities.
