National Volunteer Week was a chance to stop and thank the hundreds of people who make time in their busy lives to give back to the community through our volunteer program. Our 365 volunteers reflect Brimbank’s diversity, between them speaking 51 languages and coming from 45 different countries. We are so grateful for their ongoing commitment to our community. The Community Connector Program can help connect you with different types of support, including:
Practical help such as running errands, food relief, grocery shopping, or help setting up video chats
Emotional support such as regular chats with a like-minded local, welfare checks, financial assistance
Social activities such as linking in to online groups, Library and Neighbourhood House programs, social groups and activities.

We have already been successful in receiving $100 million towards improvements for Calder Freeway. The Federal Government had committed $50 million, and the State Government recently committed a matching $50 million. This is a welcome first step.
