Online Groups timetable: June 2021
|
|
We're holding Peer Support sessions on the 1st and 15th, both at the new time of 6pm-7pm. Our Women-Aligned Group is on the 8th from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
Our Gaming Group on Discord will meet on the 22nd, while our Coproduction Group is on the 17th from 5:30pm-7pm. Our Creatives Group will be on the 25th at 3pm.

Autism Health Access Project
|
|
The Autism Health Access Project, a project run by AIM in partnership with The Light Surgery and Leeds Student Medical Practice, has started its work. It aims to support autistic people who live near either surgery to access health services. It also aims to:
- Ensure the needs of autistic patients are met
- Give patients a say in how the surgeries' services are run
- Involve autistic people more in the GP services they use
Please note that this project is only for people who are registered with those two GP surgeries or live near to those surgeries. For further information on the project, please click on the link below.

The Advonet Group Annual Survey: Have your say on our service
|
|
The Advonet Group, the charity that Leeds Autism AIM is part of, would like your feedback on its' services. They have a survey open to anyone who has either accessed or referred someone to any of its' services, including Leeds Autism AIM.

New time for Peer Support Zoom groups
|
|
Starting this month, our twice-monthly Peer Support Groups on Zoom will run at the new times of 6pm-7pm. The next session is today (Tuesday 1st June). This is to ensure that people who work full-time are able to attend. For more info, please click below.

Free Zoom social to celebrate Autistic Pride Day
|
|
To mark Autistic Pride Day (18th June), we are holding a free Zoom social for autistic adults in Leeds. It takes place on Friday 18th June from 6pm-7pm and will be led by autistic members of the AIM staff team.

Autism Reference Group meets today
|
|
Today (Tuesday 1st June), the Autism Reference Group will be meeting on Teams. The forum for autistic adults to feed into the Leeds Adult Autism Partnership Board offers a chance to have your say on what local services should do for you.

How our volunteers kept us going through the pandemic
|
|
For Volunteers Week, our Volunteer Coordinator Fay Kesby wrote something about how our volunteers adapted to changes forced by the Coronavirus pandemic. Leeds Talent 2021: Streamed on YouTube
People in Action and Leep1's Leeds Talent 2021 show will be streamed free on the former's YouTube channel.
It will feature performances from autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities, with the winner crowned on the night.

Introducing: Young Person's Advocacy
The Advonet Group have launched a new advocacy service for people aged 11-18 in Leeds. Young Person's Advocacy is linked to the Health Complaints Advocacy service and is free to use.
It aims to help young people make a complaint about a health service they have used and make their voices heard. To find out more about how the service and how to make a referral, please click below.

Vaccination minibus to tour Leeds
The local NHS, Leeds City Council and voluntary and
community groups are running a weekly COVID-19 vaccination minibus in different parts of Leeds.
They are open to anyone in groups eligible for the vaccine who are yet to have a first or second dose.
