Stockton event report

Over a hundred competitors enjoyed CLOK's event at Stockton last Saturday, with many of them taking second runs. The event reused some of the courses from the cancelled JK sprint event last Easter. The sun shone and fortunately the swan and her cygnets crossing the start area didn't cause too much of a hold up! Full results can be found here.

Acorn event weekend - 12th/13th June

CLOK's next event is our Acorn O-holiday weekend near Whitby:
  • Saturday 12th June (afternoon): short distance event at Aislaby Moor - new area mapped by Paul Taylor, and planned by Cat Taylor, details.
  • Sunday 13th June: middle distance race at Hutton Mulgrave & Skelder - courses adapted from the cancelled JK 2020 relay, planned by Chris Wright, details.
Entries are already open, and close at midnight Tuesday 8th June.

Incentive awards

Congratulations to the following CLOK members whose results in recent events have led to incentive awards:
  • James Martin - Navigation Challenge (orange course) and Racing Challenge: Bronze Award (orange course)
  • Natalie Martin - Racing Challenge: Gold Award (green course)
For more details of the award schemes see here.  Members gain their Navigation Challenge after successfully completing 3 colour coded courses at the given technical difficulty, and their Racing Challenge after 3 colour coded courses in under 12.5 min/km (gold), 15 min/km (silver) or 20 min/km (bronze).

Scottish 6 Days update

The Scottish 6 Days have announced that the event can go ahead, assuming the local areas are down to "Level 0" in Scotland's Covid tiers, which they currently expect to be by end of June. They have also outlined the various limitations and differences to expect at the event (e.g. no club tents, no spectating, no rest day activities). See the full announcement here. Full details and entry information can be found on the S6D website, and the final closing date is 30th June - but don't leave it until the last minute, as the do have an entry limit. There are already 41 CLOK members entered, and hopefully we can arrange some sort of CLOK BBQ during the week (socially distanced if necessary).
