We are so excited to invite you back into the museum with a brand-new exhibit:
The Immigrants of Northport and East Northport-
Those who built and continue to build our community

Join us between 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 6th at the Northport Historical Society Museum for an opening reception with music, refreshments, and a first look at the exhibit which highlights many men and women from around the world who risked it all to realize the American Dream.
Through photographs and personal objects, the exhibit captures the inspiring stories of immigrants, many of whom fled poverty and oppression, who became successful artists, writers, inventors, farmers, developers, and public servants.  Immigrants like Edward Thompson from Ireland, who became one of Northport’s largest employers, George Panarites from Greece who opened the Sweet Shop on Main Street, and Hans Gabali who survived Nazi Germany and whose murals became an iconic part of East Northport.
Hans Gabali, 1961
The exhibit will run through Spring 2022.
The Museum will re-open to the public on June 2nd at 1:00 for the first time since closing because of  COVID-19 last winter.
Our new business hours will be
Wednesday through Sunday 1:00 – 4:30pm.
The Museum Shop re-opens on Saturday, June 5th and will be open on Saturdays and Sundays 1:00-4:30 pm.
