Tailored specifically for toddlers and pre-schoolers He Pī Ka Rere - Adventurers supports and fosters children's literacy, social, cognitive, motor and musical skills whilst bonding with their caregivers through shared experiences.Come along - read, dance, rock and create!

He Pīpī Paopao - First Steps
Under Twos can take their first steps to opening up a world of literacy and wellbeing with He Pīpī Paopao - First Steps. Our interactive sessions focus on active movement, touch and massage between baby and parent while nurturing development of language, social, cognitive and motor skills. He Pīpī Paopao - First Steps is a fun programme for under twos and their caregivers. Join us for songs, rhymes and finger play songs with your little one. Come along - dance and play.

He Pī Ka Rere - On the Road
One of our Youth & Early Learning Specialists will come to your centre and deliver a one hour programme of singing, dancing, a story, instrument play and a simple craft.
This programme is offered during school terms on a date that suits your centre.

LEGO Club
Lego Club is free and open to all children aged 5-11. LEGO Club allows children to collaboratively play with others while using our new LEGO set. Each club begins with a story then children can build whatever they please. All materials are provided. Each child can attend up to 5 times each term.
Parents and guardians of children aged 8 and under are asked to stay in the Makerspace during club time. Parents and guardians of children aged 9 and over are asked to stay in the library.
Younger & older siblings aged between 3 and 13 years are welcome. Children aged 36 months and under require one on one supervision with the LEGO.
We are very grateful to the Friends of the Rotorua Library for funding the purchase of our super-sized Lego set and for the support of our Makerspace Programmes Partner Unison.
There is no charge but a koha is appreciated.

Te Aka Mauri CODE CLUBS
Classes have only 10 students and will be grouped based on age. When you sign up, you are committing to coming each week. The cost of classes is a gold coin donation each week.
ou will be notified by email which class you/your child will be attending. Our classes will start with teaching programming in Scratch. These classes are appropriate for youth from 7 years - 17 years.

Activities and events will be held through Aotearoa to embrace and celebrate Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa.
This year’s theme for Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa - Samoa Language Week 2021 is Poupou le lotoifale. Ola manuia le anofale which means strengthen the posts of your house, for all to thrive.
When you’re building a foundation for a fale (house) it can’t have a weak foundation or posts. This is the same for the foundations of our families, schools and churches that play an important role in strengthening Gagana Samoa (the Samoan Language). Language is important for the foundations of our overall wellbeing.
Some activities and events will also be available online on the official Gagana Samoa i Aotearoa Facebook page.
The library will have a Samoan writers literature display, and special showings of 17min short film of Samona language 'LILIU' by Jeremiah Tauamiti, and a Samoan wordplay animation series by Elisabeth Kamarun called 'Aso Sa-moana'
