Here's what you need to know for the week of May 24:

  • CC did not send any notifications about positive COVID-19 test results during the week of May 17. All positive test result notifications are available here. All known CC cases, regardless of whether exposure occurred at CC, appear on the CC COVID-19 dashboard

Students: Get Tested Before Commencement 2020

All students — including graduates, volunteers, and guests — must schedule an on-campus COVID test for either Friday, May 29, or the morning of Saturday, May 3o, regardless of vaccination status. Proof of a negative COVID test is required to pick up regalia and to attend Commencement.

Update to Employee Testing Protocols

Faculty, staff, and guests who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged (not required) to receive a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending. Faculty and staff who wish to test on-campus prior to Commencement should do so by making an appointment by using this linkTesting will now be done at the Student Health Center. This summer, CC will discontinue the weekly testing program for faculty and staff and instead offer testing to faculty and staff on an as-needed basis at the Student Health Center, for example for testing following suspected exposure. For testing in connection with personal travel, faculty and staff need to use an off-campus testing site. The Student Health Center will only contact you if you have a positive test result. Optum is also posting the results to the Follow My Health website (if you haven’t set yours up, the site walks you through the process to do that).  You can find that here.  Please allow at least 24-48 hours for your results to appear.

State Makes Progress Toward Vaccination Goal

The state of Colorado has established a goal of vaccinating 75% of the vaccine-eligible population with at least one dose by July 4. At the current vaccination rates:

  • El Paso County will vaccinate 64.7% of the vaccine-eligible population by July 4.
  • To reach the state’s goal, 2,900-3,000 new people each day will need to be vaccinated. The county has averaged 1,228 in the last 22 days.
  • At the current pace, El Paso County will reach the state’s 75% goal on Aug. 21, 2021.

Check Out CC COVID Dashboard

The CC COVID-19 dashboard shows all known CC community cases, including our local off-campus students and employees. It provides quick access to COVID-19 metrics on campus and in the El Paso County community, including COVID-19 exposure, testing, and positive test results. For questions regarding this data, please contact Ben Moffitt in the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness. We send a notification when an individual who receives a positive COVID-19 test result has been on campus within their contagious timeframe and may have been in contact with others on campus.
