| |  | | PENTECOSTES - ANO B, 23 DE MAIO DE 2021LEITURA I LEITURA I Actos 2, 1-11Quando chegou o dia de Pentecostes, os Apóstolos estavam todos reunidos no mesmo lugar. Subitamente, fez-se ouvir, vindo do Céu, um rumor semelhante a forte rajada de vento, que encheu toda a casa onde se encontravam. Viram então aparecer uma espécie de línguas de fogo, que se iam dividindo, e poisou uma sobre cada um deles. Todos ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo e começaram a falar outras línguas, conforme o Espírito lhes concedia que se exprimissem. Residiam em Jerusalém judeus piedosos, procedentes de todas as nações que há debaixo do céu. Ao ouvir aquele ruído, a multidão reuniu-se e ficou muito admirada, pois cada qual os ouvia falar na sua própria língua. Atónitos e maravilhados, diziam: «Não são todos galileus os que estão a falar? Então, como é que os ouve cada um de nós falar na sua própria língua? Partos, medos, elamitas, habitantes da Mesopotâmia, da Judeia e da Capadócia, do Ponto e da Ásia, da Frígia e da Panfília, do Egipto e das regiões da Líbia, vizinha de Cirene, colonos de Roma, tanto judeus como prosélitos, cretenses e árabes, ouvimo-los proclamar nas nossas línguas as maravilhas de Deus». Palavra do Senhor. EVANGELHO Jo 20, 19-23Na tarde daquele dia, o primeiro da semana, estando fechadas as portas da casa onde os discípulos se encontravam, com medo dos judeus, veio Jesus, apresentou-Se no meio deles e disse-lhes: «A paz esteja convosco». Dito isto, mostrou-lhes as mãos e o lado. Os discípulos ficaram cheios de alegria ao verem o Senhor. Jesus disse-lhes de novo: «A paz esteja convosco. Assim como o Pai Me enviou, também Eu vos envio a vós». Dito isto, soprou sobre eles e disse-lhes: «Recebei o Espírito Santo: àqueles a quem perdoardes os pecados ser-lhes-ão perdoados; e àqueles a quem os retiverdes ser-lhes-ão retidos». Palavra da salvação.
|  | A VOZ DO PASTORQueridos irmãos, depois de 7 semanas, estamos encerrando o Tempo Pascal com a celebração de Pentecostes. Mas você sabe o que significa “Pentecostes”? Pentecostes era para os judeus uma festa de grande alegria, pois era a festa das colheitas. Ação de graças pela colheita do trigo. Vinha gente de toda a parte: judeus saudosos que voltavam a Jerusalém, trazendo também pagãos amigos e prosélitos. Eram oferecidas as primícias das colheitas no templo. Era também chamada festa das sete semanas por ser celebrada sete semanas depois da festa da Páscoa, no quinquagésimo dia. Daí o nome Pentecostes, que significa “quinquagésimo dia”. No primeiro Pentecostes, depois da morte de Jesus, cinquenta dias depois da Páscoa, o Espírito Santo desceu sobre a comunidade cristã de Jerusalém na forma de línguas de fogo; todos ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo e começaram a falar em outras línguas. As primícias da colheita aconteceram naquele dia, pois foram muitos os que se converteram e foram recolhidos para o Reino. Mas quem é o Espírito Santo? O prometido por Jesus veio em Pentecostes: “…ordenou-lhes que não se afastassem de Jerusalém, mas que esperassem a realização da promessa do Pai a qual, disse Ele, ouvistes da minha boca: João batizou com água; vós, porém, sereis batizados com o Espírito Santo dentro de poucos dias”. Espírito que procede do Pai e do Filho: “quando vier o Paráclito, que vos enviarei da parte do Pai, o Espírito da Verdade que vem do Pai, ele dará testemunho de mim e vós também dareis testemunho…”. O Espírito Santo é Deus com o Pai e com o Filho. Sua presença traz consigo o Filho e o Pai. Por Ele somos filhos no Filho e estamos em comunhão com o Pai. Irmãos, por enquanto aguardamos qualquer atualização da nossa Arquidiocese e claro, da nossa Província, que pode ou não impactar a nossa participação na Santa Missa. Por isso, aguardemos. Irmãos e irmãs, no dia de Pentecostes se realiza o cumprimento da promessa que Cristo fez aos Apóstolos. Na tarde do dia de Páscoa soprou sobre eles e lhes disse: «Recebei o Espírito Santo». A vinda do Espírito Santo o dia de Pentecostes renova e leva à plenitude esse dom de um modo solene e com manifestações externas. Assim culmina o mistério pascal. O Espírito que Jesus comunica cria no discípulo uma nova condição humana e produz unidade. Quando o orgulho do homem lhe leva a desafiar a Deus construindo a torre de Babel, Deus confunde as suas línguas e não podem se entender. Em Pentecostes acontece o contrário: por graça do Espírito Santo, os Apóstolos são entendidos por pessoas das mais diversas procedências e línguas. O Espírito Santo é o Mestre interior que guia ao discípulo até a verdade, que lhe move a obrar o bem, que o consola na dor, que o transforma interiormente, dando-lhe uma força, uma capacidade nova. O primeiro dia de Pentecostes da era cristã, os apóstolos estavam reunidos em companhia de Maria e, estavam em oração. O recolhimento, a atitude orante é imprescindível para receber o Espírito. «De repente, veio do céu um ruído, como se soprasse um vento impetuoso, e encheu toda a casa onde estavam sentados. Apareceu-lhes então uma espécie de línguas de fogo que se repartiram e pousaram sobre cada um deles». Todos ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo e, puseram-se a predicar valentemente. Aqueles homens atemorizados tinham sido transformados em valentes predicadores que não temiam o cárcere, nem a tortura, nem o martírio. Não é estranho; a força do Espírito estava neles. O Espírito Santo, Terceira Pessoa da Santíssima Trindade, é a alma da minha alma, a vida da minha vida, o ser de meu ser; é o meu santificador, o hóspede do meu interior mais profundo. Para chegar à maturação na vida de fé é preciso que a relação com Ele seja cada vez mais consciente, mais pessoal. Nesta celebração de Pentecostes abramos as portas de nosso interior de par em par. Vem Espírito Santo! Uma semana abençoada pra você! |  | PASTOR’S VOICEDear brothers and sistesrs, after 7 weeks, we are closing Easter time with the celebration of Pentecost. But do you know what "Pentecost" means? Pentecost was a feast of great joy for the Jews, for it was the feast of the harvest. Thanksgiving for the wheat harvest. People came from everywhere: homesick Jews returning to Jerusalem, also bringing pagan friends and proselytes. The first fruits of the harvest in the temple were offered. It was also called the seven-week feast because it was celebrated seven weeks after the feast of Easter, on the fiftieth day. Hence the name Pentecost, which means "fiftieth day". On the first Pentecost, after Jesus' death, fifty days after Easter, the Holy Spirit descended on the Christian community of Jerusalem in the form of tongues of fire; everyone was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages. The first fruits of the harvest took place on that day, as many were converted and were taken to the Kingdom. But who is the Holy Spirit? The one promised by Jesus came at Pentecost: “… he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the fulfillment of the Father's promise which, he said, you heard from my mouth: John baptized with water; you, however, will be baptized with the Holy Spirit within a few days ”. Spirit that proceeds from the Father and the Son: “when the Paraclete comes, who will send you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, he will bear witness to me and you will also bear witness…”. The Holy Spirit is God with the Father and the Son. His presence brings the Son and the Father with him. Through Him we are children in the Son and we are in communion with the Father. Brothers, for the time being we await any update of our Archdiocese and of course, of our Province, which may or may not impact our participation in Holy Mass. So let’s wait. Sisters, on the day of Pentecost the fulfillment of the promise that Christ made to the Apostles is fulfilled. On the afternoon of Easter Day, he blew on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit." The coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost renews and brings this gift to fullness in a solemn way and with external manifestations. Thus the paschal mystery culminates. The Spirit that Jesus communicates creates a new human condition in the disciple and produces unity. When man's pride leads him to defy God by building the Tower of Babel, God confuses their tongues and they cannot understand each other. At Pentecost the opposite happens: by the grace of the Holy Spirit, the Apostles are understood by people of the most diverse origins and languages. The Holy Spirit is the inner Master who guides the disciple to the truth, who moves them to do good, who consoles from pain, who transforms inwardly, giving them strength, and a new capacity. The first day of Pentecost in the Christian era, the apostles were gathered together with Mary and were in prayer. The recollection, the prayerful attitude is essential to receive the Spirit. «Suddenly, a noise came from the sky, as if a fierce wind was blowing, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then a kind of tongues of fire appeared to them and they spread out and landed on each one of them ». All were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to preach valiantly. Those frightened men had been transformed into valiant preachers who feared neither prison nor torture nor martyrdom. Is not strange; the strength of the Spirit was in them. The Holy Spirit, Third Person of the Most Holy Trinity, is the soul of my soul, the life of my life, the being of my being; he is my sanctifier, the guest of my deepest interior. In order to reach maturity in the life of faith, the relationship with Him must be more and more conscious, more personal. In this celebration of Pentecost we open the doors of our interior wide. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability. Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem. And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in their own language. Amazed and astonished, they asked, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us, in our own language? Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and converts, Cretans and Arabs — in our own languages we hear them speaking about God’s deeds of power.” HOLY GOSPEL John 20.19-23It was evening on the day Jesus rose from the dead, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
