President’s Letter

Hello!
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our Grow Your Image event in April. It was wonderful to see so many of our members, along with some new faces, in person. It was our first in-person meeting in more than a year!
Our goal is to try to move back to in person monthly meetings by the fall. Please stay tuned to our webpage and social media for updates on this topic over the summer.

In the meantime, we will meet on Zoom until we get our in-person venue settled. Our next opportunity to meet virtually will be Tuesday, May 25, at 10 a.m. PR professionals are often looked upon as the communications leaders for their organizations and agencies. We’re going to be talking leadership at this meeting focused on Lessons in Leadership from Seasoned PRo, Joe Hice, APR, CPRC. Joe is a highly creative and forward-thinking marketing communications executive with a proven record of accomplishment working with iconic brands across diverse industries. He leverages a strategic orientation and innovative thinking to develop campaigns that strengthen the presence of an organization throughout regional, national and global markets. A results-driven and team-oriented leader, who positions a business as an industry front-runner, he is a nationally recognized branding and communications expert.

If you haven’t heard yet, registration has opened for the 82nd Annual Conference, which will be Aug. 8 to 11 in Orlando. This year’s conference speaker lineup has been curated with the single focus to help PR practitioners to do their jobs better. The complete speaker lineup can be viewed here. Included with Annual Conference will be multiple networking opportunities and spectacular recognition events such as FPRA’s Presidents’ Luncheon and Golden Image Awards.

Have a great rest of your month!

Support Your Peers: Submit APR Exam Questions

Keeping the APR exam current requires an ongoing process of adding and improving questions — and you can help.

Did you know that any PR practitioner or educator can submit exam items for consideration and review? It’s a great exercise for APR candidates and study groups, and accredited practitioners earn 0.5 CEUs toward renewal of your APR.

Ready to get started?

Submitted items go through a multi-step evaluation before being added to the exam as non-graded (beta) items. That’s right, we test the questions before using them to evaluate candidates.

In addition to keeping the exam current, a larger pool of item-writers means that the APR exam reflects diverse experiences and perspectives from throughout the current practice of public relations. Add your questions today!
