Support Your Peers: Submit APR Exam Questions

Keeping the APR exam current requires an ongoing process of adding and improving questions — and you can help.

Did you know that any PR practitioner or educator can submit exam items for consideration and review? It’s a great exercise for APR candidates and study groups, and accredited practitioners earn 0.5 CEUs toward renewal of your APR.

• Read the list of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities assessed by the exam.
• View the how-to video.
• Review the Guidelines for exam question writing.
• Draft your proposed items. The more, the better!
• Identify references from the recommended resources, including the APR Study Guide and AP Stylebook.
• Submit your items via the online form or via email to accred@prsa.org.

Submitted items go through a multi-step evaluation before being added to the exam as non-graded (beta) items. That’s right, we test the questions before using them to evaluate candidates.

In addition to keeping the exam current, a larger pool of item-writers means that the APR exam reflects diverse experiences and perspectives from throughout the current practice of public relations. Add your questions today!
