In this long year of COVID-19 that kept prisons closed and OK Messages unable to film videos, Anna’s great-grandma Pamala told OKM this:
“What has kept Anna going this year has been the OK Messages videos—the ones you sent in past years. They’ve helped her get through her father's death in a car accident and through the loss of her grandpa and two aunts to COVID this year. Anna just turned 11! She watches her mom's videos every day and reads books with her. She’s had some tough times and worried about what will happen, but these videos have helped Anna stay in contact with her mom and not feel so alone. And they’ve kept her reading: She’s on the Principal’s list with straight A’s again this year. She’s very excited to get her new video and book.”
