Play-a-thon Thank You!

Wow! On behalf of the Friends of Cleveland Bands I'd like to say thank you so much for the support. This puts the band program in an excellent position to do great things next year! I for one can not wait to be sitting in the auditorium again listening to the results of Mr. Riler and the band student's hard work.

The video of the event can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/HY_KmeY0SfQ. The gofundme page is still open for another few days: https://www.gofundme.com/f/chs-bands-2021-spring-playathon.

Thanks again,
Brian Richardson

2021-2022 Cleveland Bands Leadership Team Opportunities

As we finish a school year and look forward to better days ahead, it is imperative that we finish the year prepared for what is to come.  We were building a strong leadership team in 2019 going into 2020, but much of that momentum has been lost.  Mr. Riler is planning a meeting for ALL students to attend to share about what the leadership team at Cleveland looks like. They have some positions that need to be filled, but they also need a large group of students who are willing to do one thing or another to make the load on any one student lighter.

Students are requested to attend the Leadership Meeting on Wednesday, May 26th @ 12:30pm. Office Hours Button on Canvas will be used for the meeting.

Mr. Riler plans to finish no later than 1:00pm, but will remain in the meet to answer any questions.

The following will be discussed:

  • Leadership Positions that need to be filled.
  • What is a section leader?
  • What is a drum major?
  • Can I be on the leadership team without holding a position?
  • Fall Band Camp (next year’s 9th & 10th graders)
