Good morning, afternoon, or evening,
For any of my first time readers, it is May 2021 and I have been doing a dedication to graduates this month. I hope you enjoy this week’s newsletter. If you would like to check the others, the link to previous newsletters are below. If you are listening on YouTube you can check it out there.
As I write this newsletter, it is definitely graduation season. Here in Alabama, high school seniors across the state are taking their walks across the stage. A culmination of years of hard work is celebrated in one hour. The ceremony planning may have taken a month but the qualification to participate in the program takes years.
This is the interesting part. Even though people are all at the same event. Everyone's experience is different. Some graduate with honors and others are class officers. It may be some who had to go through some extreme circumstances to get to this point. I won't go into detail about that. I understand and realize that some people at graduation have had to deal with the test of life as well as the classroom. It was a fight to get to graduation. I think you get my point. Everyone has a different perspective on their journey and there is nothing wrong with that. How you prepare and work towards your goal will determine your graduation. You see, your reward on the big day depends on EVERYTHING you did days, weeks, months, and years before. To succeed in excellence requires excellence before the success comes. Graduation, accomplishments, growth, relationships, and anything else you name depends on what you do prior to getting to that point.
There really isn’t much to say about graduation. It is a beautiful day. It is recognition of all of the hard work a person has done. Don’t spend so much time thinking about graduation that you forget that you have to qualify. To be a graduate takes work and dedication. Completion is the requirement for graduation. I haven’t said it in a while but I do want you to FINISH this year and every year after this. To all of my graduates, I am so happy for you. This is a milestone in your life that you should be extremely proud. This is a moment to celebrate but not something that you should sit in. Take a week to celebrate. I will even give you two weeks. After that, get back to work. Shift your mind to the same tools that we have discussed in the past month and apply it to the next level. After time, we will get to celebrate your next completion. Congratulations graduates of 2021! I am so proud of you.
