Dear Friend,

As we turn the corner on the pandemic, which things will we leave behind, and which will we take forward with us to build a better future? We want to leave behind dangerous, inaccessible, and polluting streets; we want to make Stay Healthy Streets and Cafe Streets permanent, and to make traffic enforcement equitable. If you can, please chip in today to make this critical work possible—our people-powered movement depends on support from community members like you.

Thanks to your advocacy, Stay Healthy Streets now extends to 25 miles of streets that function as places where everyone can get out of the house to safely walk, bike, roll, run and play. We’re advocating to expand this beloved program to more communities of color, and dense neighborhoods that lack open space. We’re also working with neighborhood advocates around the city to improve these streets-for-people and make them permanent, including the Keep Moving Streets along Green Lake Way, Alki Point, and a portion of Lake Washington Boulevard.

A lot is at stake this year—the city will decide which streets to make permanent, how, and whether to expand them. It’s not going to be easy, but with our neighborhood organizing, and savvy policy advocacy, we can make them a permanent part of every Seattle neighborhood. Please give today to power this work
Cafe Streets are good for public health, communities, workers, and small businesses. These streets have allowed restaurants and other struggling businesses to keep their employees working. In addition to all of that, Cafe Streets make living in a city delightful!

This year, the City is evaluating whether to make the Cafe Streets program permanent. We are working with small businesses and allies around the city to craft and fight for a permanent program that is accessible, safe, collaborative, equitable, and BOLD—but we can’t do this without your support. Please give today to make Cafe Streets permanent
Our “Whose Streets Our Streets!” workgroup is leading the way towards anti-racist traffic safety. We need to change how Seattle enforces traffic laws, to create streets that are welcoming to everybody, and make real progress towards Vision Zero.

The city and the country are reeling from deadly traffic stops that have killed too many Black people and other people of color, and communities are clamoring to implement effective solutions. Our workgroup is conducting equitable outreach, building relationships, and designing public policy. Please give today so that we can continue to fight for equitable streets for all.

Together we can make Stay Healthy Streets and Cafe Streets permanent, and find community-led solutions to traffic enforcement. Thank you for your support.
