Sunday Mass Obligation Restored for 5/6 June 2021
Together, the Bishops of Ohio have decided that the general obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation (including the Saturday/Vigil Mass) is to be reinstated. This will take effect in each of the Dioceses of Ohio the weekend of June 5-6, 2021. As has always been the case, those who have a serious reason are exempt from attending Mass. This includes those who are ill, have significant health risk factors or care for someone who is immuno-compromised or ill, as well as those who have significant fear or anxiety of contracting the coronavirus in a large group of persons. These persons should observe the Lord’s Day and are encouraged to spend time in prayer on Sunday, meditating on the Lord’s passion, death and resurrection; an appropriate way to do this is through viewing a broadcast of the Sunday Mass. Masses that are broadcast through various media are not intended as a substitute nor do they fulfill the obligation for the persons who are able to gather for a Sunday celebration and other Holy Days of Obligation.
It’s tempting to believe we can love God in whatever way suits us, but that’s not how love works. The way we express our love for God is through obedience and worship. In the first of two explanations in this video, Fr. Mike explains that going to Mass on Sunday is our weekly chance to prove our love for God.
Graduation Message from Bishop Brennan
Across our diocese, it is graduation time once again. Thousands of seniors in our many public schools and in our 11 Catholic high schools will walk across the stage and conclude their high school years.
Though much will be said about the great difficulties that our graduates have overcome this year, I want to remind us all of the many, many successes that our students have had in the chapel, in the classroom, on the sports field and on the stage this year.
To all our graduates, I know I speak on behalf of the faithful throughout the diocese when I saw that we are truly proud of you. It is my hope that you are leaving school with a clear sense of yourself and of the wonderful gifts and talents that God has given to you.

The Anniversary of our Church's Consecration
We will celebrate the 157 th anniversary of the church's consecration at a special Mass on Saturday, 5 June at 9 am. The Church actually gives the anniversary of a church's dedication the rank of Solemnity to show the importance of this in the life of the church. Please plan to join us next Saturday at 9 am.

St. Mary PSR - Update for Fall
Plans are underway for PSR sessions to return to the classroom for the next spiritual year: 2021-2022. Comments were made by parents this year about how much they enjoyed doing pre-crafted lessons with their child(ren) in the home and being able to share their faith in this way. We hope to continue these parent-led sessions in the home in some way moving forward. PSR Registration information will be made available at the end of July for the Fall for children in K, 1-8, and high school.
