Religious Education & Sacramental Prep Updates
Religious Education Summer Program
The Summer Religious Education program, Encountering Christ Through the Corporal Works of Mercy, is being offered for grades 1 - 8 June 14-25 at the Cathedral. It is scheduled M-F from 9am-noon.
Participating in the summer program and a monthly meeting Sept through May will meet your child's requirements for Religious Education next year. Traditional Wednesday night class at Holy Ghost will also be offered.

Good Neighbor Scholarship Opportunity
Divine Word College in Epworth, Iowa is offering a two-year scholarship for those interested in pursuing an Associate of Arts degree in Theology and Mission, Intercultural Studies or Interdisciplinary Studies. The scholarship is open to all ages and covers the entire cost of tuition, books and college fees (minus any Pell Grant for which the student qualifies). Scholarship recipients may begin as early as August 2021 or in any subsequent semester. An AA degree from DWC may be transferable to other four-year colleges or universities after graduation. Dear All,
I hope you and your families continue to be in good health! What a blessing to be able to come together to celebrate Mass for Pentecost! As we approach this weekend, Happy Memorial Day, the start of Ordinary time and Summer! Since many ministers stay home for various legitimate health and safety reasons this means many of you are serving each week to help; please know how grateful I am for all of you who are serving every week! Moving through the Easter season there will be an ongoing number of changes to the ministries, exciting to have Cantor lead singing again!

As we approach the Summer, June-August 2021, Father Steve and I would like for us to add back 1-2 Extraordinary Ministers for each Mass. Since it has been a while since we all served, we would like to host a mandatory in-service meeting for all EM's Thursday, June 3rd, at 6 PM, @ the Sacred Heart main sanctuary. For those without access to technology, I will be sending out invitation letters in the mail.
Please respond if you are willing and able to serve again, and if you are able to attend the meeting to the MSP blast I am sending. It is that time again for the next schedule, Summer 2021, June-August 29th 2021. Moving through the Summer, Ordinary Time, there will be an ongoing number of changes to the ministries and the Mass as a whole; we will always let you know if/when we make any updates. As you have seen, we have started lifting some of the mask mandates, please see other parish blasts for more updates on modified guidelines. As I begin in our intro to Mass, “We will do our best to adhere to the guidelines from our Archdiocese as we celebrate our liturgy today maintaining with a heart of charity the changes caused by the corona virus pandemic.”
Also, we have added more pews in each of the churches to accommodate more people, and other factors; you will now see only 1 pew roped off in between sitting areas. We plan to continue this through the summer but this is subject to modifications as well. Please know you are in my prayers. Thank you all for your continued service to each of your churches and to Holy Spirit Parish!
If you are unable to make your Mass time, please click on sub request and/or let me know at least 2 days in advance. For all ministers across the board please be at least 20-30 minutes early to Mass. Especially in these trying times, thank you for all your continued service to Holy Spirit Parish. As Father Steve and I do all that we can to maintain the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese and Archbishop Michael, we thank you for your patience and understanding!
Notes on MSP emails and App: I know there are issues with the new MSP emails; please double check all inboxes as these emails sometimes go to other inboxes. If an email is delivered to the Promotions tab, you can click and drag it to the primary inbox. Once you move one message, the others will no longer be marked as promotions so they will go to the primary inbox! The phone app has been updated! To access the updated app, volunteers should click Update for the MSP app in the App Store or Google Play and then click Open. Doing so will allow you to regain access to your account. If for any reason they do not get access, please simply close and reopen the app, or click the “reload” link if they experience an error code.

Sunday Reflection from Father Steve Garner
Reflection | Most Holy Trinity | May 30, 2021
 “Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
It’s easy to take this command for granted. Every time we attend Mass, we make the sign of the cross and say “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Many of us also make the sign of the cross before meals of to start and end our personal prayers. Because we are so used to hearing and saying this Trinitarian reference to the one God in three persons, we might tend to gloss over its significance. But today, on the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, we stop to remind ourselves what this really means for us.
We might begin by remembering that Christianity is absolutely unique in its belief in the Trinity. No other religion claims such a remarkable doctrine—that God is one in three. And it is important to understand that Christians didn’t make this up; it was revealed to us directly through Christ Himself. As we here in this weekend’s Gospel, and elsewhere throughout the four Gospels, Jesus taught about this mysterious union of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As Christians, we follow what He taught.
Perhaps the most beautiful part of this great mystery of God’s nature is what it means for us. We believe in a God whose very essence is made up of loving relationships between three divine Persons. It follows that, as people made in God’s image (cf Gn 1:27), we are to live in loving relationships as well. We are made to love: to love God, to love one another, and to love ourselves. Our God is not a force, a power, or an idea. Our God is a personal God who loves each of us and calls us to do the same.

Prayer for the week
This week let us pray with intention for all graduates …
A Graduation Prayer 
Dear God,
We pray for our graduates today and lift them before you. We thank you so much for these we love and for the work you are continuing to do in their lives. They are a gift to us and to many others. And during this season of new beginnings, we ask that you would make their way clear. We ask that you would keep their footsteps firm and remind them that you are with them, always. May they sense the freshness of your Spirit over their lives in amazing ways, may they be strengthened, instilled with hope, for the new roads you have in store.
And today, again, we release our children straight into your tender care. Because we know that’s the best place they could ever be. We thank you in advance for all you have in store, for this day, for this year, for their lives.
We pray for protection, for your covering, that you would surround their lives as with a shield. Protect their coming and going. We ask that you would help them to live aware in a dark world and keep harm or evil intent far away. We ask that you would hide them in the safety of your powerful presence.
Our world is currently anxious, fearful and uncertain. We pray our graduates are filled with your courage and strength, that they may be a light to their friends and neighbors in this uncertain time. Amen.
