Dear Neighbor,

I hope you are doing well. Here are a few updates from the county and town.

COVID-19 Update - Face Coverings

Face coverings are not required in most outdoor settings for fully vaccinated people. While people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must wear face coverings in businesses and crowded spaces both indoors and outdoors, they can lose the mask in private settings where they’re around other fully vaccinated people or when they’re outside in uncrowded areas.

A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after completing the vaccine series, which is a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

For unvaccinated persons, face coverings are required outdoors any time physical distancing cannot be maintained, including when attending crowded outdoor events, such as live performances, parades, fairs, festivals, sports events or other similar settings.

More information on face coverings can be found here.

Safe, free, and effective COVID-19 vaccines are available to everyone age 12 and up. See locations and times for San Mateo County-sponsored clinics here. No appointments are needed. Residents can see additional options and book appointments if they wish here.

CAL FIRE suspends burn permits in San Mateo County

The increasing fire danger posed by dead grass and hotter, drier conditions in the region has prompted CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within San Mateo County. This suspension takes effect May 20, 2021 and bans all outdoor burning with some exceptions. This suspension is in addition to the backyard burn suspension that was effective May 1, 2021. More information about burn permits and the upcoming fire season can be found here.

ASRB Vacancy

The town currently has a vacancy for an Architectural and Site Review Board member. The ASRB reviews and makes recommendations to the Planning Director regarding community character, site planning, building design and landscape elements on residential and commercial applications. Interested Woodside residents are encouraged to apply.

During COVID-19, the ASRB meets virtually on the first and third Monday of the month at 4:30 p.m.

Interested residents may request information and applications from the Town Clerk, Jennifer Li, at jli@woodsidetown.org. More information can be found here.

Applications are due Friday, July 2, 2021, by 5:00 p.m.

Town Council Meeting

The Town Council will meet virtually tomorrow (5/25/21). The full agenda can be found here. Among other considerations, the Town Council will be interviewing candidates for the District 1 planning commission position.
