I left you hanging last year.  SORRY!

To review, (and this might be familiar) here's a list of things that are important to me and which I think should be more important to most people:
  1. Get to know yourself better.  Why is this email what's occupying your attention at the moment?
  2. Defend yourself.  Self defense has shown up for me more like a responsibility than a skill.
  3. Maintain a healthy relationship with what's yours.  ProofOfKeys will help.  I know from personal experience that it can take some determination.
  4. Cats are independent for the most part.  They can teach us stuff.

Here's where you start hanging

Ok, I don't think number four is that important, but I really like cats, so I added it anyway.  What motivated me to write this email to you was number three.  Honestly, numbers one and two really are more important.  Mailchimp tells me that 61 people ...

You feel it?  SIXTY ONE PEOPLE WHAT, DAVE???

I'm sorry, that was six months ago and I don't remember.  I was probably going to say that many people opened my previous newsletter, and use that as an opening to suggest that if that December email (or this one, now) is occupying your attention because you're trying to get a better handle on when I turn my ads on and off, follow @Litmocracy on Twitter.

And What's that About Volatility?

"Balancing the Present" is a blog entry I made.  I've been slowly improving my ability to give people enough of the idea verbally that they can run with it.  I'm in Toastmasters and it's helping.  It's an organization designed to help people improve their communication and leadership skills.  The leadership part bugs me because WAY too many leaders turn out to be schmucks.  Not all of them, but still way too many.  Is there a word for the skill of being a good example?  That, to me, is true leadership.

Anyway, the USD value of my savings has dropped, and I don't care.  Why?  Because I balance, which means I've been buying all the way down, but never so much that I don't have cash left.  It's better explained in my post.  And there's a bot...

A bot?  What's that... I think I know...

It's a DANGEROUS tool that you can use to lose money, or, if you understand it well enough, to make money.  It's available at https://github.com/dscotese/kraken-grid.  The code I run on my laptop is a little more capable, but messy because I keep tinkering with it.  If you have an account on Kraken and like Node.JS (or Javascript) or coding in general, please check it out and maybe you can help me clean it up.  Writing it is what I've been doing for six months.

Anyway, the important thing is in large letters at the top: I turned my ads back on.

Thanks,
Dave.
