Captive To Do His Will

“The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition,
if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil,
having been held captive by Him to do His will.” 2 Timothy 2:24–26

This passage describes Biblical ministry; what we all have been called to do. This is what we prayerfully and lovingly strive to do every day. The needs are great.

The Holy Spirit is the only One capable of guiding and making provision for the darkness of the human condition. More and more we find ourselves being called into this darkness to bring the "Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." Sometimes the call comes from surprising places, other times from the familiar prison cell.

In these difficult days, we find ourselves increasingly called to minister to a broad spectrum of needs found in all kinds of places. New Brothers Fellowship and The Wayfarers' Lodge are touching the familiar incarcerated and post-incarcerated individuals, but also people with similar needs outside of that familiar setting.

Discipleship is about men and women maturing In Christ, not about where those men and women are found. The Devil holds all kinds of people captive to do his will. Christ has come to set every single one of them free and raise them up as a testimony to His glory.
