Australian Space Data Analysis Facility officially launched

The Australian Space Data Analysis Facility (ASDAF) is set to provide small to medium enterprises and researchers access to space data collected via satellite. Data collected in space through satellites has uses that help us every day right here on Earth.
From applications helping farmers increase crop yields, assessing damage to buildings in disaster events, improving management of environmental impacts in forestry and mining and everything beyond — space data has huge applications for our country and our economy.
A joint initiative by Pawsey Supercomputing Centre and the WA Data Science Innovation Hub, the Data Analysis Facility is a part of the Australian Government’s $19.5 million Space Infrastructure Fund, to increase capability and fill gaps in Australia’s space infrastructure.

Space Bridge state and territory roadshow begins |

The UK-AUS Space Bridge team will be hosting a series of briefings focusing on the space sectors of Australia’s states and territories targeted to a UK audience.
The sessions will detail the respective strategies the state/territory in focus have developed for their space sector, the support mechanisms for they have/are developing, and the areas of capability and comparative advantage they possess strengths in.

The Australia- Korea Foundation is committed to supporting engagement between Australia and Korea and encourages eligible individuals and organisations to apply. SmartSat CRC releases Space Industry Skills Gap Analysis report |

SmartSat CRC has released the Space Industry Skills Gap Analysis report which identifies three hundred and nineteen space-related skills needed to support future needs of the sector.
This study was supported by the Australian Space Agency as an initial step to understanding the skills needs of the national space workforce. The Space Industry Skills Gap Analysis is a detailed and in-depth examination and assessment of Australian space-related skills, developed by a team engaged by SmartSat from Western Sydney University and Asia Pacific Aerospace Consultants Pty Ltd. Choose the name for SASAT1! |

Entries are now open for the SASAT1 Space Services Mission naming competition, giving students from all primary and secondary schools across the state the chance to name South Australia’s first satellite. The winning name will be displayed on the satellite which is due to be launched into low-Earth orbit in 2022.
