Pressemitteilung

Press Release

The jury has decided – TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund will be supporting the qualitative further development of eight projects from the first and second funding rounds with funding of €1.35 million

All 15 projects from the pilot phase of the TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund programme were invited to apply for support for the qualitative further development of their undertakings. A condition for the submission of applications was again at least 50% in co-financing from municipalities and federal states.

In their sessions on May 18 and 19, 2021, jury members Esther Boldt, Claudia Feest, Cornelia Walter and Katharina von Wilcke deliberated on the concepts submitted and, following intensive discussions, finally recommended eight projects for funding.
TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund will be supporting these projects with a total of €1.35 million and thereby matching the around €2.7 million made available by municipalities, federal states and other sponsors.

Jury statement:
“The extraordinary opportunity for continued funding for TANZPAKT projects allowed us, the jury, to gain a deep insight into what has already been achieved. It is impressive how much those involved in the funded projects have been able to set in motion since 2018 despite pandemic-related restrictions, and at the same time it highlights the immense need for funding. Through TANZPAKT, structural foundations for dance are being laid in a very different way. While a few projects are establishing existential bases in regions where structures are weak, others are conducting pioneering, forward-looking work for the national scene. In addition to the high level of professionalism, what the projects also share is the focus on supporting the next generation – of creative dance artists and audiences alike. Due to their strong network and model character, the initiatives have a broad impact that strengthens Germany’s entire dance landscape and also integrates international co-operations. The high quality and development potential of the projects submitted made the jury’s funding recommendation particularly difficult since all the concepts would have been deserving of federal funding.”
