Everyone looking for a new home knows there's not much inventory out there but this recent survey does give some hope the cavalry may be coming....
Adaptive Reuse
I'm tired of reporting the same news.... I feel like I'm on loop every month... Inventory is low, home prices are rising, and days on market are at new lows.... Blah... Blah... Blah....
So instead I'm providing two links to articles about one of my favorite real estate concepts; adaptive reuse. It's basically taking a building that no longer has a purpose and finding a new purpose without tearing it down.
If you think locally, think about the Fashion Square Mall. What could that be in ten years? A senior living community (the mall walking population would be delighted!) or one of the alternatives in this article? And here's an article about an adaptive reuse project in Henrico County where a public / private partnership is bringing swimming to an old Macy's....
