European Space Agency: Ocean Health
This activity is a contribution to the EC-ESA Flagship Action on Ocean Health aimed at developing advanced ocean observations and products and enhancing the scientific understanding of the ocean’s role in the Earth and climate system and its responses to management actions to contribute to reverse the cycle of decline in ocean health and improve conditions for sustainable development of the Ocean. ESA plans to launch up to three separate and independent contracts which will be run in parallel and address the following Themes:
- Theme 1: Ocean Acidification
- Theme 2: Marine Heat Waves
- Theme 3: Open Ocean Biodiversity

Who does what
The following groups and forums are established in AtlantECO:
ESR forum: for all Early Stage Researchers involved in the project, this is a self coordinated group which can be reached by writing an email to atlanteco.esr@szn.it
If you are an ESR and would like to register, please see here.
Popularisation group: the popularisation group is helping to make the link between science in AtlantECO and our communication and Ocean Literacy activities. The email address is atlanteco.popularisation@szn.it, if you would like to be part of the group (see current membership and tasks) and subscribe to the mailing list, see here.
If you would like to set up a forum or see more initiatives developed, please get in touch, we are open to suggestions.
