Our Watchfulness is Key to PVE Safety

Hello <<First Name>>,

Over the past year, Palos Verdes Estates has become a popular destination for people to enjoy the sunsets on the bluffs and other features of our city.

As more people get to know PVE, there’s a possibility for additional safety concerns.

Just this past week, we saw graffiti in Malaga Cove. People may decide to add portable BBQs to their sunset picnics, not knowing that PVE is a High Risk Fire Zone.  There may be people going beyond our regular trails into private property or engaging in suspicious activities in the various nooks and crannies of our beaches and parklands.

As in all situations, we can keep a watchful eye for activities that may endanger the safety of our community.

Our eyes and ears help the police department cover more ground.  Our calls enable the police to follow-up on activities of which they may not be aware. We have an opportunity to observe unsafe or potentially illegal behaviors and notify our PVE PD.

With people getting bolder and cleverer in their criminal activities and mischief, it’s more important for us to be watching out and reporting anything that seems suspicious.

Our PVEPD will take the information and look into it as they are able.

Happy Memorial Day.  Consider celebrating by buying a new flag at Lunada Bay Hardware.  They have a good supply of American-made flags in stock and you’ll get to support a faithful local business.

Help support our local neighbor who is part of coordinating a number of blood drives in our area.  Find out dates and locations here.  There are events scheduled as early as 5/27 and donors are greatly appreciated.
