We are halfway through term two and our boiler project is nearing completion. All going well our heating should be functional by the end of this week and we should be toasty and warm in the classrooms when we return to school on Tuesday.
Winter sports are well underway and I am continually amazed by the opportunities that our students have to engage in sport. There is weekly rugby, netball, football, basketball, badminton, swimming and hockey to name a few. Last week saw our primary students compete in a Rippa Rugby tournament where some of our year 9-10 students showed leadership in refereeing the games for the tournament. Well done to all students who took part on the day.
A big congratulations to Jade Gutsell, Dannielle Mason, and Bronte Williams for their selection in the Southern Area Schools' Tournament Team. These students will compete in the National Area Schools' Tournament which is being held in Dunedin in the July holidays. They have organised a fundraiser 'Soup and a Scone on a Wednesday' that will start next week. So please remember your cup and spoon on Wednesdays.
I hope that you all make the most of your long weekend. My family and I are hoping to explore more of our new home in The Catlins.
Room 19 students have been working on a science investigation about a place around the school that is special to them.
