FFAC is Hiring a Web Developer!

Our favorite animal rights organization, Factory Farming Awareness Coalition, is hiring a Web Developer with data management experience.

You will do invaluable work:

  • Consistently maintain the FFAC website, using best practices for website development, including mobile and responsive site design

  • Implement best practices for SEO, and train staff who develop web materials.

  • On occasion, incorporate data from back-end databases and services

  • When needed, create well-designed, tested code using standard HTML/CSS practices when necessary

  • Create and maintain workflows with FFAC teams to ensure consistent visual designs and pages

  • Develop or validate testing schedules, addressing all browsers and devices to ensure various computers can access content

  • Train relevant team members on effective use of Wordpress.

  • Maintain updated knowledge of new and emerging industry trends and technology

  • Identify necessary software and hardware needs

  • Develop and implement the latest security procedures and protocols for data management

  • Create protocols for the retrieval and analysis of ongoing data storage

  • Troubleshoot any data-related problems

  • Oversee and manage a team in the day-to-day use of data systems

  • Manage an efficient and effective process for the collection, cleaning, storage and analysis of internal data sets

  • Provide data and technical support to staff to enable them to make data-driven decisions

  • Identify areas where data quality requires improvement and collaborate with team members to resolve issues

  • Design, validate and implement management dashboards that release key performance indicators on weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis

  • Design, validate and implement a repository of standard or custom reports and dashboards that facilitate the development, monitoring and evaluation of our programs

  • Apply data visualization principles to develop and present analysis in a clear, simplistic and impactful way

  • Train all team members on data collection methods.

  • Follow all organizational policies and procedures

  • Perform any other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in web design, multimedia design, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Three years demonstrated experience planning and developing websites

  • Working knowledge of web applications, programming languages, and web services, such as APIs, CSS, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, security principles, and web user interface design (UI)

  • Proficiency with content management systems, especially WordPress

  • Dedication to innovative, sophisticated designs and collaborative problem solving

  • Web design skills preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management best practices

  • Knowledge of GSuite applications, AirTable, EveryAction, Trello, and other cloud-based applications

  • Experience identifying opportunities for data collection and for enabling staff to easily enter data using existing applications or through new applications

  • Ability to solve problems effectively, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines

  • Passionate about quantitative analysis to drive decision making

  • Strong writing and strategic, analytical, and logical thinking skills

  • Ability to work independently, solve problems in maintenance of databases and tracking systems, and be flexible

  • Willingness and desire to participate in unexpected projects and support team in attainment of organization-wide goals and objectives

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details; proven competence with collection

  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization

  • Commitment and openness to continued personal and organizational growth through staff trainings and team building activities

Compensation and Benefits

Earn an annual salary of $40,000 - $50,000, depending on qualifications, and enjoy a commute-free life as a remote team member. In addition to a collaborative and innovative work environment, you will be able to take part in our benefits package, including low-cost health insurance; paid time off, holidays, and sick leave.
