What we're reading:
The subversive use of diacritical marks (dots above and below letters) in the Arabic language has got to be one of the highlights of our week.
We've also added 'Cut from the Same Cloth?: Muslim Women on Life in Britain'* to our wish list. "From modern pop culture to anti-Blackness, faith and family, politics, education, creativity and working life; this anthology gives visibly Muslim women creatives a space to speak to the matters that mean most to them...twenty-one middle- and working-class women of all ages and races look beyond the tired tropes, exploring the breadth of our experience and spirituality." In case that wasn't reason enough, it features one of our favourite fans Dr Sofia Rehman (who wrote this amazing review of the Jeem Journal).
What we're watching:
Sami Yusuf’s 'Live at the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music' is an album of new compositions and unique arrangements by the celebrated musician. It's a celebration of sacred music inspired by a rich legacy of mystical poems, rhythms, and melodies that span centuries.
What we're listening to:
The Deeply Human podcast on BBC Sounds recently covered the weird and wonderful world of of deja vu and its underlying mechanics. "What if everything you experienced felt like you had already lived it before? Meet the people for whom déjà vu is every day."
What we're loving:
As one of us looks back over their shoulder at, and the other approaches, 40 years on this planet, we really enjoyed Dr Rania Awad's reflections on verse 15 of Surah al-Ahqaf in reframing the midlife crisis! Seeing the fundamental role of gratitude was both affirming and eye-opening.
We're also more than a little bit excited about one of Disney's new Launchpad Shorts released today called "American Eid" by Aqsa Altaf.

We totally love this extensive 3-month mark review of the Jeem Journal by the amazing Ellie Quinn. The forensic assessment of the journal is something really quite special.
